VERSALIFT LAT-38-135-H won the award at IAPA last night at the IAPA summit in Madrid, Spain in the category Product of the Year – Vehicle/trailer mounted

Description of a winner

First of all, The safety

Ideally suited for the arborist, telecoms and utility sectors, the LAT-38-135-H offers real innovation due to a safety breakthrough with the introduction of Certified Low Voltage Insulation as standard.

Electrocution is a significant risk when operating emergency descent controls fitted at ground level. With the LAT-38-135-H, an operative can operate the ground controls, recover the boom quickly and be protected from electrocution from voltages up to 1kV AC.

The LAT-38-135-H integrates leading technology within the boom structure, bucket controls and fittings, enabling dielectric flash-testing whilst the bucket is mounted to the platform. This prevents electric shock to persons on the ground that inadvertently touch the vehicle, mainframe or outriggers should the boom or bucket make contact with a live conductor whilst being operated.  There is no longer the requirement to fit an earth bonding cable or earthing spike.

Bucket controls are also protected, providing additional protection to the machine operator. The low voltage insulation is certified to the latest standard and rated to provide protection from live voltages up to 1kV AC – should the boom structure make inadvertent contact with a conductor, the certified 1kV protection will reduce the potential of serious or fatal injury.

Access to bucket from vehicle deck and ground level for improved safety.

The low travel height has significantly improved the driving experience, both on and off road.

An innovative boom stow mechanism enables entry to the ‘walk in bucket’ from both the chassis and ground level.

Facts about LAT-38-135-H
