Norwegian PLF visited TIME International when the association held its annual meeting in Denmark. The new lightweight VERSALIFT VTX-240 caught all of the attention.

Danish access platform producer TIME International opened its doors for the Norwegian personal lifting association PLF Friday last week as the association held its annual meeting in Aalborg, Denmark. PLF is an association of buyers, sellers, importers and end users of personal lifting equipment in Norway.

The company visit proved a success for both parties. A live demonstration of access platforms was the main course following a starter in the form of the obligatory company presentation and tour along the facilities. The weather gods did not allow for optimal conditions for the demonstration as harsh winds and rain would not allow the large Ruthmann 72 meter access platform full access up into the sky.

The VTX-240 stole the show

The crowd was particularly interested in the new VERSALIFT VTX-240 lightweight access platform. The innovative boom design – permitting a large up and over reach along with 24 meters of working height – is quite an achievement in the 3.5-tonne GVW rental segment, and the vehicle caught the attention of representatives from several Norwegian equipment rental companies.

Tommy Jensen of Oslo based rental company Høydespesialisten was one of the interested visitors. Tommy Jensen arrived in Farsø in need of a couple of access platform vehicles for an expansion of his vehicle fleet and was particularly interested in the VTX-240.

“I was interested in a VERSALIFT access platform because it is a high quality product with local support and service. I feel very comfortable buying a vehicle from Denmark,” said Tommy Jensen.

The purchase of a lift vehicle is a large investment requiring a thorough decision making process prior to the purchase. Tommy Jensen was satisfied with the tour and demonstration and felt sure his concerns had been addressed. He ended up ordering a VERSALIFT VTX-240 on Nissan Cabstar chassis via the Norwegian distributor Brubakken A/S.

Access platform building featuring LEGO

The final part of the visit was a competition where guests were supposed to assemble a small lift vehicle out of LEGO with prizes to the fastest builders. All PLF members picked up the gauntlet even though the average age of the audience did exceed the age of the target audience of LEGO by some years.

“I like to compare TIME with LEGO. LEGO is the living proof that a successful export adventure is possible with production facilities in Denmark. All it takes is a well-defined product niche and innovative product design ensuring the products always exceed the ever growing expectations and demands of customers,” said Per C. Torp, Export Manager of TIME International.
